i'm wet and cranky

Well, back from an afternoon over at the convention center, setting up. Just one more trip tomorrow to check some things early in the afternoon. Then the fancy opening reception and it's time to rock 'n roll. Booth is almost all done, just waiting for the plasma display and plants. One competitor is notably absent, rumor is they are being bought. Another is using the same tired display, rumor is also that they will be bought. Yet another, one I have to pay attention to, has a sassy new display with a new business alliance to announce. Hrumph. I'm feeling like mine is frumpy. Hrumph.

Then my cell phone batty when belly-up whilst talking with SHG. Now it's charging but is so dead it won't start up. Hrumph.

It's STILL raining a cold, steady, hard rain here. I'm over it. I'm glad the jacket I bought the other day is water-tight. Something funny about Calgary: It always seems like folks here are apologizing for the weather. Ya, sorry about the cold. Sorry about the puddles. Or, they claim it's anomalous: It never rains like this. It's awfully warm/cold/cloudy/sunny/snowy for this time of year. Another variant, the warning: No Chinook for three weeks. The rivers are about to flood. There's still three feet of snow to melt in the mountains, better get a boat. I don't think I have been here for "normal" weather yet...And this is something like my 8th trip up in 2 years.

Calgary is essentially exactly under the bullseye of the sat/rad from just a moment ago.

Hrumph. But I still love Calgary.
