odds n' ends on wednesday

Buried at work...making progess on these presentations for AAPG, but it's slow. And Windows is not helping the process...nor is SQLserver...

For those of you outside of Houston, it's been sultry here. And I mean SULTRY. I am ready to hunker down for the summer or go on work trips to places colder, or both.

Why does the ex have to keep fucking with me?

Had to get away from the phone and general Dark Lady drama at the office yesterday, so I went to Diedrich's to work, for about 4 hours. I got a lot done. Wow, range of overheard conversations:
"well, do you get the Mercedes, or is she taking it?"
"we're subsituting 2"x6" studs for..."
"when i lived in Rome in 1955..."
"i worry about the liability of doing a carwash as a fundraiser..."
"i'm sitting here in a funky coffee shop in Houston..."
"...yet the Egypitians never knew about their pyramids, i think that..."

Called the HCTRA yesterday to work out some billing issues. I was so shocked at how polite and helpful they were as compared to last time that I had to pinch myself.

Hung with SHG last night, wow. Good meal, good tunes, good conversation, good company. Just Good. Commuted in from chez SHG, only 30 minutes at 7:30 AM... not bad at all. Oooo, and that coffee he makes, I'm wired for sound in 50 states.
