and this, from the pointless dumpster

check this out...how pointless is this exercise?

So, what do *I* think of this whole Karl Rove thing? Do you care? Well, I'll tell you anyway.

I think it is being used, somewhat, by the administration as a means by which to distract us from all the really big shit that's going on, you know, like the war in Iraq, domestic issues, Supreme Court justices.

Karl Rove is either being hung out to dry (who cares?) or will simply be slapped on the wrist and officially be turned into a file clerk, but still have the President's ear.

So now, you ask "Isn't the safety of a CIA operative important?" Yes, it is. "Isn't our ability to effectively conduct covert intelligence operations a matter of national security?" Yes, it is.

But so is, oh, bombing innocent people, pissing off a huge segment of the world. So is the quality of education for our children (sorry, No Child Left Behind does not really work). So is health care for our citizens. So is alternative energy resources for when all those people we have pissed off turn off the pipelines. Let me be crazy now: how about over-extending our military to the near-breaking point so that when something really big happens we have our collective dicks in our hands and our collective thumbs up our asses?

Remember, the greatest form of patriotism is dissent.
