up and about

Well.

It's been a long time since I have made a blog entry. It's been a busy week, though. I was really sick most of last week and am finally nearly over it. Feh. It sucked. No need for the gory details, but it was rough. I had visitors from our main office in Paris here last week, so I was busy at work whilst sick but muddled through.

My home PC is pretty well kaputt. It was time for a new one anyway. So now I have a happy little HP laptop which I am configuring etc... and SHG is having some temporary insanity, err, envy, over. It's fun to have a new machine but a little stressful when there are other things going on and I just need it to work. It's slick, though.

reddevil was here from Thursday evening to this morning, we had a really nice visit. He got to meet SHG in person and they talked politics, but only a little. No fur flew and everybody still has their eyeballs. They talked a lot about things that I know nothing about, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so I let them just converse and I smiled and looked cute. reddevil endured the zoo quite well. We explored many of Houston's antique shops, went to a few of my favored watering holes, and ate a lot. Yesterday the three of us were out and about and somehow managed to all wear khaki-colored shorts and navy t-shirts...it was scary. We watched Shuan of the Dead which was good, except the DVD from Netflix was a touch scratched. OK, a lot scratched. We also did several sell-the-house chores and bought the new laptop as well. Good company, good food, good conversations.

Off to DC Thursday for a long weekend, really looking forward to that.
