some good news, sort of

Well, it seems that Secure Flight, the government (TSA) plan to take over comparing passenger manifests to terrorist watch-lists from the airlines has hit another barrier of sorts. The GAO has managed ensure that a list of 10 safeguards for security, accuracy, and in my opinion most importantly, privacy, be met by sticking them into the Homeland Security bill to be passed next week. Phew...kinda...I hope TSA meets the requirements, but more importantly observes them.

You can see some standards from HS to TSA for Secure Flight here, which I found fascinating in a depressing kind of way. I am not sure if this has the "list" of 10 safeguards in it or not, it is organized in a somewhat non-linear fashion... : )
