Something about the Sierra Club's endorsement of the new Mercury Mariner hybrid SUV smells fishy to me. First, this thing is not really a "traditional" SUV (e.g., a Ford Explorer, Chevy Tahoe, etc.) - it's a tall station wagon. Of course, it's great that they are supportive of it, but a press release and 300,000 emails to all members (including me)? It just seems a little commercial for a non-profit. Hmmm... I wonder... I smell a rat... maybe it's a nutria stuck in the thing's exhaust...
