Arctic National Wildlife Refuge oil drilling

Whatever your views on drilling in ANWR as well as other offshore areas around the U.S. (with marginal potential), heads-up that the U.S. Senate and the House of Reps will be discussing it under the umbrella of budget reconciliation this week. Now that that we've shot our wad in Iraq, Afghanistan, over a couple of hurricanes, now we have break our piggy bank to pay for it. Ooops, but no revenue will actually flow right away, and the amount will not be that great anyway: The oil companies of course need/deserve their share, and then there's the states' shares of the income.

So how does this increase our defense and energy security while bringing down the national deficit/debt? Uh... Um... Oh, yeah, must be that new math thing. No, wait! Its so that we can all drive Hummers to work!!
